    • Seller Username

You can still sort and refine the results just like in a standard search.

  2. Enter your search criteria (e.g., keywords, category, price range).
  3. Select the Completed option under Listing Status.

⭐ Watch List

To view all items you've added:

  1. Go to My Account > My Account Home.
  2. Navigate to Bidding > Watching.

πŸ›’ Bidding, Buying & Offers

Placing Bids

Some listings offer a Buy It Now option, allowing you to purchase an item immediately at a fixed price.

  • For auction-style listings, Buy It Now is available only until the first bid is placed.
  • For Reserve Price auctions, Buy It Now remains available until the reserve is met. Once the reserve is met or bidding begins, the item will be sold to the highest bidder.
  1. Enter your bid amount on the auction listing page.
  2. You'll receive on-screen and email confirmations when your bid is accepted.
  3. If someone outbids you, you'll be notified so you can place a higher bid.

To avoid being outbid, enter your maximum bid (Max Bid). Ourproxy bidding system will automatically place bids on your behalf, only as much as needed to keep you the highest bidderβ€”up to your max amount.

Please only place bids you're prepared to honor. In most cases, bids cannot be retracted.

Proxy Bidding allows Coral Auctions to bid for you:

  • Enter your maximum bid (Max Bid).
  • The system automatically places the minimum bid required to keep you in the leadβ€”up to your max.
  • If another bidder outbids your max, you'll be notified.

If you see a bid increase by less than the usual increment, it means another user's max bid was slightly higher than yours.

Simply enter the highest amount you're willing to pay in the bid box. Coral Auctions will automatically bid for you in small increments until:

  • You win the auction at the lowest possible price, or
  • Someone places a higher bid and you're outbid.
Current PriceBid Increment
$ 0.01 - $ 0.99$ 0.05
$ 1.00 - $ 4.99$ 0.25
$ 5.00 - $ 24.99$ 0.50
$ 25.00 - $ 99.99$ 1.00
$ 100.00 - $ 249.99$ 2.50
$ 250.00 - $ 499.99$ 5.00
$ 500.00 - $ 999.99$ 10.00
$ 1000.00 - $ 2499.99$ 25.00
$ 2500.00 - $ 4999.99$ 50.00
$ 5000.00 and up$ 100.00

Quick Bid is a shortcut for bidding the next highest increment.

  • You'll see a red Quick Bid button beneath the current price on auction listings.
  • Clicking the button places your bid instantly at the next increment.

Reserve Auctions

A Reserve Auction has a hidden minimum price set by the seller.

  • If the reserve price is not met, the item will not be soldβ€”even to the highest bidder.
  • If the reserve is met, the item will be sold to the highest bidder.

Listings will be clearly marked as Reserve or No Reserve.

Bidding works the same, but with a few differences:

  • If your >Max Bid is below the reserve, Coral Auctions will proxy bid up to your max.
  • If your Max Bid meets or exceeds the reserve, the current price will automatically jump to the reserve price, skipping increments.
  • Once the reserve is met, bidding continues normally.

The listing will update from Reserve Not Met to Reserve Met when this occurs.

This can happen for two reasons:

  1. Another bidder had already placed a Max Bid equal to or higher than yours.
  2. You placed a bid on a Reserve Auction, and your Max Bid met or exceeded the seller's reserve.

Offers

Some sellers allow Make Offer:

  • If enabled, you'll see a Make Offer button below the bid box.
  • Click it, enter your offer and an optional message.
  • Click Review Offer, then Submit Offer.
  • The seller may accept, decline, or counter your offer. You'll be notified of the response.

This occurs when your counter-offer is accidentally higher than the buyer's original offer per unit.

Example:

  • Buyer offers $25 each for 4 items = $100 total.
  • You counter with $101 (total), but the system interprets that as $101 each = $404 total.

Instead, enter $25.25 per item to counter with $101 total.

Bid & Purchase Issues

Buyers are legally obligated to complete purchases for winning bids or accepted offers.

Bid retractions or cancellations are not allowed under the following circumstances:

  • Revealing the seller's reserve
  • Testing another user's proxy bid
  • Bidder's remorse

Contact the seller immediately. They can remove the extra items from your invoice and send you an updated version.

Most often, this is due to a slow or unstable internet connection.

  • Be sure to bid within the auction's time limit.
  • Confirm that you received an on-screen and email bid confirmation.

If you're unsure, Contact Us and we'll review your bidding activity.

Buyer Tools

Go to My Account > My Account Home > Bidding > Active.

Go to My Account > My Account Home > Bidding > Offers.

Buyers:

  • Always check out using the Coral Auctions checkout button.

  • Expired or missing credit card on the seller's PayPal account

  • Buyer manually sent payment to the wrong PayPal address

🚚 Shipping

To correctly calculate shipping and ensure payment is collected, follow these steps on Step 2 of the Create Listing page:

  1. Choose a shipping method from the dropdown.
  2. Enter the cost for the shipping method.
  3. If offering free shipping, check the "Free Shipping" box.
  4. Click the "Add" button to save the shipping method to your listing.

βœ… Shipping methods must match across listings to combine invoices. For example:

  • Priority + Priority = βœ… Combined
  • Priority + First Class = ❌ Not combined

To automatically combine shipping charges:

  1. Enter the Combined Shipping cost in the appropriate box during listing creation.
    • If you ship additional items for free, enter "0".
  2. Click the Add button to apply.

Example:

  • Item A = $10 + $5 Priority shipping
  • Item B & C = $10 each + $1 Combined Priority shipping
  • Invoice = $30 (items) + $7 (shipping) = $37 total

πŸ”„ The item with the highest shipping cost becomes the base. Combined costs are then added per item using the same shipping method.

πŸ’‘ Tip: If you use various shipping services, choose "Other" for all your listings to ensure they combine under one invoice. Describe the shipping method in the item description.

You can only adjust unpaid invoices. To do so:

  1. Go to your Invoices and select the invoice.
  2. Click Add Adjustment and choose:
    • Credit (reduce the total)
    • Debit (add additional charges)
  3. Enter the amount and a brief description.
  4. Click Add Adjustment.
  5. Email the updated invoice to the buyer.

For paid invoices, see: How do I edit an invoice?

Always ship to the PayPal address. This offers the strongest buyer/seller protection in the event of a dispute.

Yes. Use the Combined Shipping field to set reduced rates for additional items:

  • Enter 0 to offer free shipping on extras
  • Or specify a fixed amount (e.g., $1 per additional item)

Always click the Add button to apply your settings.

In most cases, feedback is permanent. If the feedback was submitted according to Coral Auctions' rules, it cannot be removed.

However, if a dispute arises over a rating or comment, Coral Auctions offers mediation. If both parties agree, and following a review by a site administrator, the feedback may be modified or removed.

Your feedback percentage is based on all 5-star ratings received in the past 365 days. Only 5-star ratings affect your feedback score.
